MK3 97, been living with the power steering not working on idle. Normal, if not slightly sensitive above 1500 rpm and works fine.
Failed its MOT yesterday due to this fault. I presumed from the many posts that it was the belt needing tightened. Garage have tried that and said the pump is fecked and needs to be replaced.
Anyone had similar as I thought the pump was fine.
