Car is a 2001 mk4 1.4
Had the engine light come on recently.
Did a scan with vagcom and it came up with this:
16804 - Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold
P0420 - 35-00 - -
Ross Tech says
16804/P0420/001056 - Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold
Possible Causes
Leakage in Intake and/or Exhaust System
Catalyst faulty
Oxygen Sensor(s) faulty
Oxygen Sensor(s) Control faulty
Possible Solutions
Check Intake and Exhaust System for Leaks
Check Catalyst
Check Oxygen Sensor(s)
Check Oxygen Sensor(s) Control
Perform Oxygen Sensor(s) Aging Check
Now does anyone know how i can check the sensors?
Thinks its possible with vagcom but i dont know the default values to check against.
Also car doesnt seem to pickup speed like a 1.4 should.
Would this also be caused by the above?
