Fitting vr6 highline seats in 8v GTI?

I seem to have run into some problems fitting the rear seats. They don't seem to have similar ways of attaching.

The bottom of the new rear seats look like this:


.. Which is different from the ones I have now...

What to do? I can't be the only one to have this problem... Do I need to get some welding done to make it work?

Looks fine to me bud, they flip forward that's why there's a knuckle so t speak.
Put the seats in as if in the flipped position, bolt the base anchor, and flip to the rear !!!

Yeah I thought that might work, but they still dont quite seem to fit.. will update later when I've given it an honest try.
