Heyup everyone,

I'm just wondering if anyone out there knows anything about importing Mk1 golfs into the UK from South Africa?
I was travelling around there a couple of years ago for a few months and was always having lifts in some brilliant Mk1 Golfs (Citi Golf in South Africa!).

I've just read a bit about it and I've seen their not strictly standard 'Euro' Mk1 Golfs, but I had a lift in one that was a bit retro and looked awesome.

I would love to know a bit about the process (I'd imagine it would be pretty cool to have a relatively new Mk1 Golf GTI!).

If anyone has any info that would be brilliant?.

Cheers!

Id imagine they cost a fair bit with import costs and registering them etc, a South African guy i worked with had a couple out there. He reckoned you pay a fortune for a banger back home and was shocked at how cheap the price of cars are over here. I know registered S.A mk1's seem to go for alot here, have seen a couple base models make UK GTis look cheap.
