fitting an alternator

received an alternator from a salvage yard this morning.is it a easy job to fit one?are there any hidden problems that i should look for?it's going on a 91 16v golf.

I think it's just the one long bolt at the bottom and the tensioner at the top!

Did you get the wire from short bro's?

going to take the wire's off tomorrow and take it to my mate who's an auto electrician for him to have a look.he's going to test the 2nd hand alternator also to make sure it's fine.

Yup 2 bolts, the bottom bolt may have an allen head on it, be carefull when you come to take it out as mine was rounded :(  Managed to hammer a socket on it thogh so all was well.

Just a bit of a tight fit so takes a fair ammount of wiggling to get the old one out and the new one in :)
