Astra MK4 1999 8v thermostat housing part number
« on: 25 February 2013, 17:51 »
Anyone know how to get it?

Vauxhall keep giving me the wrong number. It has two bolts and Vauxhall are now shut. All pictures on the web are three bolt holes this is two, behind the cambelt cam pulley side and it's cracked in two.

Cheers.

CBF to go back to get it then go all the way the other way to get the part if I can help it. Should have thought of it but being a Vauxhell thought it would be easy to find!

Water pump seized like a MOFO sending the belt off. Gotta give it credit on the fact it ran with a new belt on though!

Bit off center:

Are these the pumps that break, when one is a little heavy handed removing the bolts! :lipsrsealed:

Pumps or housing?

Think housing was the original cause for waterpump failure. Heard of it before but never seen it!

Cant remember tbh, whether it was the pump of the housing, just know that the dealers kept on supplying the wrong part, it was either 1 hole to many, or one hole short! same problem with GSF, but iirc Euro car parts could get the correct part, but we had to wait 48 hours for it! this was some months ago, so maybe they are now readily available
