Have no gears only reverse??

Hi could some1 please help i have done a 1.8t conversion in my mk3 golf running a o2a gearbox cable shift has run fine for months then today i put it in reverse that worked fine went for 1st n nothing i have no foward gears only reverse any1 know why??please help

Think iv sorted it as i can put it in gear by moving the selector on top of gearbox by hand just not on the gearknob so think a cable has come off or sumthin like that
