Advice needed please

Hi there, on saturday i will be picking up a Mk5 GTI and i cannot wait to get starting to modify it.
I quite fancy getting either an induction kit or just a panel filter. Now when i did this on my old Mk4 it ruined the air mass meter, which isnt exactly cheap to replace.
Are the Mk5 air mass meters any better or wll it play up again?

The MAF sensor is okay on the MKV.

Just make sure you go for a decent intake.
