What stage Re-Map? Assuming that it is.
« on: 06 February 2013, 08:13 »
Hey, New to the GTi forums, Just thought i would see if anyone had any ideas about my new GTi.
I know that i really need the computers and Rolling Roads for the correct answer but im at work with 8 hours left in front of this computer.

So, I have a GTi 1.8T. Has had quite a bit of work done to it and from the looks of the engine, Alot of money well spent on keeping it in awesome shape.

My question is, If i provide a few details about the way the car Boost's and preforms, can anyway take a wild stab in the dark and guess what stage Re-Map my car is? Assuming of corse it is Flashed.

Cheers in advance.

How long is a piece of string?  :lipsrsealed:

You will really need to know lists of mods and what power your car is putting out to be able to gauge that.

so far i know im at ...
175BHP (Last Dyno run about 6 months ago)
AEM Cold Air intake with Filter
Baileys Dump Valve
Straight through Stainless exhaust system with De-Cat
Brand new Oil filers and oil dump every six months
Lowered 40mm

The one thing that catches my eye and brought me here is that, according to the book, The boost should be kicking in at round about 2.5 - 3 thousand revs, where as in mine boost from 1.5 thousands revs and continues to boost until about 6 thousand finally redlining at 7ish.

hope this helps a little. Ive always had a passion for cars but just never had a car with bothering over, Now after a bit of saving im finally going to put my head down and work hard on learning a bit more about cars. ONLY TOOK 6 YEARS!

thanks again
