Help please!!!!
« on: 08 March 2013, 20:40 »
Right i know ive got a vac leak and im pretty confident the vac leak isnt causing this. Recently the cars been running pretty rough on first start up and the SAI sounds like a hoover so im gonna remove it and have it mapped out however the car now is running so lumpy its unreal. After starting it i leave it till the SAI goes off as i know it struggles to move whilst its running but the car cant build up any revs. It feels really jerky and lumpy and absolutely no power regardless of how flat my foot is to the floor it just wont build any power and jerks along the road. Its like ive tried to pull away in 5th gear.

Theres no codes thrown other than the 17705 thats been there for a while. Any ideas or am i gonna have to fork out for a specialist to look at this?

it might be a "real" 17705 for once, check you haven't popped an intercooler hose off, and check the rubber S shaped boost hose down the back of the engine. or it could be a goosed maf sensor. check the hoses before unplugging the maf though, that will only confuse matters

ill try and get a look tomorrow after work if it stays light enough. Ive just replaced the s-shape one at the back with one from an agu. Ill check the connections on it and the pancake. oddly enough someone had said in a previous post i made that my MAF readings on a log were a bit out, ive got a spare MAF so after ive checked the hoses ill chuck it in and see if it makes a difference. If none of this helps im taking it to a specialist, not spending anymore than i have to and i need the car running asap.

changed out the maf and still struggles to rev up. It gets to 1100rpm, splutters then climbs okay. Once the revs drop down it struggles to idle then cuts out. Sometimes it runs a dream like 5 minutes ago pulled like a train in first then shifted to second and it spluttered around 2500rpm ish and had to shift to 3rd. Was gonna clean and realign the throttle body incase the valve wasnt opening but its only been cleaned a few weeks ago, plus i dropped my t30 torx bit somewhere in the engine and i cant find it  need to buy another one before i can get the bugger off. Is it possible my throttle body needs replaced?? also now got a code for lambda B1 S1 malfunction in circuit intermitent ive only just replaced the damn thing with a genuine bosch one not a cheapo. Im so close to having a "mate" set this thing on fire. Thought the point of all these sensors was to show when something was faulty yet im having to hunt like an idiot to find whats wrong. Also on a separate note when does the SAI run and when does it cut off. I thought it only ran once at startup then not again until engine is restarted but mine seems to be cutting in whenever it feels like it could this be the root of my problem?
