I had a MK6 Gt with the same engine.
It had 6 breakdowns 
and was constantly back at the dealers with the misfire
that's excessive. Were all the breakdowns related to the misfire tho?
Yes. It had new coils, 3 new engine maps, 3 sets of spark plugs and 2 sets of fuel injectors by the time I got rid at 10k miles. I still wasn't convinced it was fully sorted at the end but by then my confidence had totally gone. The last breakdown happened the day after driving back from Germany and that was the straw that broke the camel's back............
