were ignoreing the cost of oil change's  and cambelts ect

it's things like tyers, disks, pads   there not that much money but they don't last that long 

then theres ball joints, cv boots ( there s a lot more of them ) allong with cv joints, there are quite a few bushes on older cars as well just to keep you busy big power 4wd cars also tend to have clutches for lunch if not carefull, then theres varius sensors under the bonnet and things like coil packs and plugs.

there epic cars but every part of it has to be spot on as its all working bloody hard and a lot closer to it limutes than most cars, hence if it aint cock on it goes bang. turbo and teh engine itself arn't really problematic  its sensors wire around the engine and drivetarin suspention parts that bite

I did read on the evo forum about importing, but another owner who had imported various cars had said it's more hassle than its worth. However if you can buy a much younger and lower mileage car for the same money then it seems a no brainer...

Danny you're right, it does cost a lot to maintain, but it's an expense I'm willing to put up with, for now anyway! Just means I'll need to buy a few more tools

Good idea is lookup prices of parts I.e brake discs pads clutches service parts etc and compare. But remember you'll need more of them quicker.

Can't see brake pads and discs wearing any faster unless you're driving faster which you will be haha.

the brake pad disk issues comes when you first change them. 

go down the loacls motor factor  and buy some partco pads -  at this point you quite chuffed as much cheeper than expected all goes well till driveing the car at that point  you think umm these brakes are a bit crap later on it when giveing it the big heavy boot, they fade after the near crash and  change of pants  some better pads get orderd these cost a lot more beer  but hey there much better.

a few weekss later after a particualy good session of booting it the steering wheel starts to shake a bit what happens next is prity much that same as above but costs more and involves disks .

then a clutch goes an its a nice bill for a decent 1 an ive seen good 1s last 4 sets of lights on full boost  but great when its not yours
