Black plastic panels to car color? mk3
« on: 11 January 2013, 16:34 »
Hi guys. I have a mk3 pearl dragon green. In all honesty, I don't like the color . I bought it because of low rust, good engine condition and such. The more I look at it, the more I feel like I need to improve its looks.. I repaint isn't feasible, as that would probably just cost 2/3 of what I paid for the car. (would love for it to be black). So anyway, I've decided to make do with what I realistically can afford.

The worst thing is the black plastic panels in my opinion.. In particular the ones by the wheels (what are they called) as they seem really chunky. Side skirts aren't too pretty either. And of course the plastic running down the side of the middle of the door is just ridiculous imo.. Don't get me wrong, I love my car, but its looks need improving :)

All in all, I'd prefer painted trims in the color of the car rather than the black plastic currently on it.. Any idea where to get it? Can't seem to find anything.

This car looks like mine (can't take a picture, it's dark atm):

Good idea with the CL side trims. Do you know where I can get them? Can't seem to find them online.. Also: do they come in a specific color or do you have to paint them yourself?

Cheers

Cl spec trim is black, GL had colour matched trim which is harder to find, try ebay etc and you should get lucky.
