so sorry to hear about your dad.

The Golf is an all rounder, which is why we all enjoy it. You dont get many pleasures in life, so enjoy the car, it will be good for many miles, so why not enjoy it.

As for the DAB, I was advised after having my headunit swapped under warrenty to a DAB compatible one, that I would need an additional ariel fitted, as unless you specced DAB when the car was built, then you will not have 2 ariel connections.

of course if anyone on the forum knows differently, then I would love to know how to solve my DAB issue also. One option i looked at was an internal ariel on the front windsreen but then that just looks poor.

Dab Ariel info. I think I will fit one at the same time I retrofit the camera.

Glad to hear your loving your motor.

Looking back over my time of MK6 golf ownership I can certainly say that it was a great commuting car and very easy to live with whilst also knowing I'd be safe in the event of an accident.

Hmm just spoke to a couple of DAB specialists and the only stand alone units they say they can guarantee will work with the RNS 510 are ones that can't be controlled via the CAN BUS (ie. steering controls) which is very annoying. And all of them will require a screen ariel as a minimum. Grrrrr

And I'm still doing silly miles visiting hospital a long way away so DAB equipped Diesels are starting to enter my thoughts again!!
