hi people,looking for advice on best place to get stuff to service my mk4 1.8t agu i will need plugs oil+fuel filter,oil and not sure if i have missed anything got an induction kit so no air filter needed what oil do i need and what makes are good for plugs etc? ant info will be much appreciated.

dealers. its were ive always got my stuff from and tbh isnt expensive. i went in expecting to get the lube out but was happy with the price they charged for parts. cant remember exactly how much it was but think i got fuel filter, oil filter air filter, oil, sump plug for around £30, and think the spark plugs are only around £15, however think you get get some NGK (Or something ones from halfords that are highly regarded, have a search sure you will be able to find a post about them)

I've just bought oil, oil filter, sump plug, and pollen filter from Ebay - all are genuine VAG parts or highly recommended aftermarket parts (as per info on this forum and others) and were the cheapest I could find online. Just be careful which seller you are buying from - make sure they've got a decent rating and you'll be alright. Otherwise, dealer is a good option as mentioned above, as is this: http://www.vwspares.co.uk/index.html

There's loads of threads on here relating to oil choices, so have a little search around, but I ended up going with Fuchs Titan SuperSyn 5w40. I've been advised that Fuchs oil is used to fill the vehicles before they leave the factory brand new, and Quantum is developed by Castrol for VW as an aftermarket oil for consumers (this is probably what you'll get if you go to the dealers). Oil choice is a big topic - I've got an AUM and 5w40 seemed like the best choice for me, but some of it is down to preference. If it's a turbo, the only thing you need to be sure of is that the oil is fully synthetic. Otherwise you're in trouble.
