Downdraught 40 weber on a driver help :)
« on: 15 December 2012, 08:54 »
Hello first of many posts on the forum! I have bought a down draught 40 weber and custom inlet for my driver and I would like to know if anyone knows what I will need to fit it,

It's a 40 dcnf 12

What accelerator cable will I need?
What choke cable will I need?
What fuel fitting will I need?
Also what will I do with all the spare pipes and hoses off the pierberg?

Oh and does anyone know where I can get a top hat for the air filter for it at the moment it's just the bare carb and I can't find anything that looks like it will fit

Thanks in advance :) rich

Let's get this straight:

you want to hang a big Weber carb off the back of a counter-flow engine.

Might want to thing that one through again, to see if you can find a different thing to do.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

you make the accselorator cabel fit
you make the choke cabel fit

they are cabels they don't get any more low tech

or you chould  botch something together then take it to a motorbike garage and they'll make you one

as for fuel fitting  ones that fit  depends what the carb has on it.

spare pipes mostly get chucked in the bin.

what you should really be asking is  what jets, emuslion tubes and air correctors do you need to fit to the carb  so your engine won't hate you for it and run like crap
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

You should buy Cory's carb then.
