You're not 'investing' in snowboarding kit, you're spending money on snowboarding kit.

Unless it's going to deliver a return on investment?

On the up-side you'll be spending well under half on fuel vs what you would have been with the V6 motors.

On the down-side you've bought the wrong diesel.  50MPG TDI Golf3, Passat, Vento, Seat or Skoda would have been a much better choice - more poke and economy probably around the same.

Can't think of any reason to disagree on the engine choice tbh.

Other than the insurance on my SDI is sub £500 for me at 19 and 1yrs no claims (2yrs claim free experience though).

Also as reliable as death but then the Golf 3 TDI motors seem that way too. :undecided:

You get used to it somehow though.

You just sit in the middle lane when overtaking and as you sit there pounding the accelerator and finally after 58.9 seconds have hit 80MPH, you kind of just expect it and think nothing of it.

It doesn't change when you've got into one of your other cars and get back into it. It's a weird feeling.

After a while that strange miniscule wave of torque from 50-70 seems half impressive.

It's crazy that you do actually hold back large lorries on slip roads uphill though, the other day a lorry a couple of cars in front kindly but probably illegally pulled onto the hard shoulder to let cars behind get past uphill on the slip road to the M2.

I embarrassingly had to follow to be nice as I couldn't get round it.

Where all my moneys went.

Golf MK3 1.6. Golf MK3 8v GTI.
