There doesn't appear to me much info on this, so I thought I'd create this post, as it will more than likely help several others out as well

I need to replace my track rods as there is play in both ends. Now I have read up and watched several videos on how to replace the track rod ends, but with the inner track rod itself, several people have used a rather crude looking tool (looks like a toilet plunger

).
Toilet plunger (track rod tool)Now, I know space is tight where the inner track rod is attached to the steering rack, but will conventional tools allow me to replace this myself, or will I need said plunger?

If the previous question is a yes, what size would I need for the mk4, as there are several sizes available on eBay (25-35mm, 28-35mm, 35-45mm)?

If anyone has replaced their whole track rod arms before, tips and comments are most certainly welcome
