can any1 tell me what rear axel bushes are please!!!!

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone would be able to help me a little, car's just had MOT and been advised that it needs to have front and rear axel bushes; as they are worn. It also needs to have new front lower arm bushes! Im just wondering what these are! lol, and roughly how much it could cost for the parts, since ive just spend £400 getting it fixed from its MOT:(

all bushes are bits of rubber that tie all your suspension together with some movement allowed. if yours need replacing then chances are over the years they have perished. you'll be amazed at how well your car handles after you've replaced them. look on www.gsfcarparts.com for parts prices. you'll need to get the old ones pressed out and new ones pressed in. it shouldn't cost too much but the rear beam can be rusty as hell which can make things take longer than normal.
