Yongnuo 560The most important functions for it to be useful as a remote flash are that you can manually set the power and zoom of the flash. If you were going to use expensive remote flash triggers that had TTL functions, then the camera and flash would be able to communicate and then work out the exposure themselves. But for this sort of flash photography you're more likely to set up the shot, set your flash positions and power and then adjust the camera's exposure to get the desired shot.
Remote triggers:
Trigger with 2 receiversThis look good for the money, handy pack with 2 receivers and each receiver has a Sony hotshoe on one end and a standard hotshoe on the other, so you could borrow someone else's flash if you needed to.
If you want to spend more serious money,
Pixel King TTL triggers are meant to be great.
As for stands, I'd be tempted to get something like this that includes brackets and umbrellas so that you've got all of that kit for photographing people and objects.
