Hi Boys and Girls Help........... My GTI the past two days keeps cutting out the AA man thinks he has fixed it but need some reasurance !!!!! Symptons ..... all of a suddun the engine cutsout  oil light buzzer buzzes  and you can here my immobliser starting to kicks in............ the only time it kicks in is when I switch the engine off it does a beep count down this also happens when I take the fuel relay out and put it back in !!!

the AA man came out ........checked the oil level it had nothing in there oooopppps (my own fault) he put in 1 and half litres of oil in ...... now he says when the golf is reallly really low on oil it triggers the fuel relay to switch it self off turning the engine off to protect it self............. now is this true ...if so i can relax.... please please help

Hi greenie
I don't think there is a link between the oil pressure switch and the fuel pump relay, sounds like the 12v ign supply is being lost. Check the battery terminals are clean and tight, with the engine running wiggle various wires to try to recreate the fault. It could be the fuel pump relay  :undecided:.

Hi Greenie

I had a similar problem with my Mk1 Cabby and it turned out her immobiliser had got damp and was trying to cut the engine - not fun at 60 mph - new immobiliser correctly fitted solved the problem - worth a look if it keeps happening!
