Rear brake pads

Tried to put new brembo rear pads on today but as they were so much thicker than the old ones i couldnt get the bloody caliper back on! Even tried bleeding off some brake fluid but nothing. Gave up after 30 minutes snd put it back together. Garage job now. Least the spark plug change was hassle free and only took 60 seconds. Old ones seemed to work fine but looked like sh!t when i took them out.

File the lip off the disc both sides and wind the caliper back, could not be easier

Nahh it was miles out. Id be filing through most of the pad. Its fine itll only be £30 labour and i wont need to do the bloidy annoying locking nut cap removal again either :-)

did you wind the calliper back fully?
They are a pretty close fit when new pads are installed.
I don't mean filing the pad either, you get a lip on the disc which snags on assembling with new pads.
Seeing how cold it is dont blame you for chucking at a garage

I made myself a caliper wind-in tool from of some nice 316 stainless, froze the new bearings in at work then managed to get both discs and pads done in about 2 hours. Helps a lot having a nice warm garage to work in
