Who best to map my 1.8T
« on: 01 December 2012, 21:47 »
I am building a mk4 1.8T race car to race in the Castle Combe Saloon car championship and I am coming to the stage were I need to get the ECU mapped, but there are a few problems.

The car is not road legal and I do have access to a trailer but only for taking it to the track and back so I need someone who can come to me to map it. I know there are a number of mappers who do house calls but my car has got a lot a modification including K04-001 and red injectors and I know it takes time to map cars with these type of mods and maybe even a rolling road.
I hear alot of good things about R tech but would they be able to map my car at my house and if not are there any other mappers who could do it.

Cheers

it can't be done how you want mate, it's just not possible.

you EITHER need to use a rolling road, or live map it testing out on the open road.

A non road legal car, that cannot be taken to a dyno or test track for the day, is about as much use in mapping terms as a house brick.

Somebody could guess the setup for your spec list, but without testing, it's pointless.

Sorry dude. I'd suggest you pay £40 to hire a trailler for a weekend and take it somewhere.
