what oil do i need 2002 golf tdi 100

i need to service my gold but not sure which oil i need. because the engine is 10 years old should i put thicker oil in like 5w40? also do i need PD engine oil:S? i was thinking of putting in Triple QX fully synthetic 5w30 which i can get for £21 posted off ebay if it would do. thanx

its 5/40 pd oil i use genuine vw oil that i get for £28 for 5L through work. Its not worth risking cheap oil with the cam /followers problem the golf has

Go to your local dealers and get some stuff that is made for your engine. Only use the specified oil.

you need to get Quantum PD Platinum 5w40 fully synthetic oil which is good for 10k miles or 1yr whichever comes first.

Genuine PD oil specified for your cars engine is the choice i would go for as stated before that you want your engine to run fine and not try and induce problems by putting wrong or not suitable oil in :)
