Winter Tyres

Having recently had a baby, ive decided for the first time to put winter tyres on my GTI. My budget is a little tight at the moment but could stretch to about £100 a tyre.

Looking online the 4 branded tyres in that price band are Falken hs-449, Kumho KW-27, Avon Ice Touring ST and the Toyo Snowproxes s953.

Had a look at reviews online but as always its a bit of a mixed bag. Wondered if anyone on here had first hand experience of any of these tyres.   Thanks in advance

What size are you running mate? from the 3 you listed I'd take the Toyo's

225-45-17's.  Was swaying towards the Toyos but the Avon's seem to have better wet grip reviews in non snowy conditions.
