How much is it worth??
« on: 06 October 2012, 16:09 »
How much would a standard mk2 golf gti be worth with 500 genuine miles??!!
Starts first time and is in great nic. Going to change some hoses and brakes and a couple of other bits. But what price would I be looking at to sell it?
Thanks
Tommy

Not a joke my friend. The opportunity has come for me to own this car. Genuine 500 miles. 1 owner obviously. Has just been sat for something like 18 years. The owner has about 30 cars and needs space so he can more!! Bit of an encentric. Has a mk1 also with about 1k miles, also bentlys and a rolls Royce plus many others
Obviously needs afew bits replacing albecause it's been sat for so long but he starts it every so often and still starts first time. If I'm to have this car and spend some time and money to get it back on the road I just want to know what a ball park selling price would be and would it be worth it for me? I would be buying it for a very good price.
Would £7k be me being very optimistic or is a possible price I may get?
Thanks
Tommy

Just requested some pics. Not going to keep it. Would rather sell it to someone who will cherish it. I'm just trying to save it and get it back on the road and not wasting away on a farm

Hummmm It will all depend on condition...

I would be concerned about the condition of all the running parts if it's not been run for 18 years....

Any doc's to back up the mileage?

Really need pictures to have an idea but sounds like a proper barn find...

Never understood people who do things like that ie buy them and then never use them...

Back on the road  I think if it is genuine, whoever buys it will not be driving it.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
