If you call out the RAC the first thing they will do is get you to sign a disclaimer to cover their own backside against damage and obtaining entry to a car they dont own !!!!!  Cant see the bloke getting in without the use of airbags as the rods will not get through the door seal without damaging this and would be too hard to get through. Just politely ask the guy to just pump the airbags a couple of times to the bare minimum needed to get the rods through and then when the job is done and the airbags are deflated the door will return to its original position.

Really simple thing to do is cover the window in duct tape then smash it with hammer and nail. Nail will shatter the glass with little force and the tape will hold all the glass. No mess and your in.

Plenty of people breaking mk3's on here that will sell one cheap enough

Although the immobiliser would still do its job.
