vr6 window probs

hey guys  i have read many threads but still un sure ,i have a 1996 vr6 .window goes down fine ,when it goes up it reaches half way and goes back down ,full closure alarm works fine everytime ,i have replaced the window switch with a fully working and tested one ,no change ,cleaned all the runners window ,frame lossesnd all the bolts had it go up and down re tighted, generely messed about with this for ages ,should i now replace the motor or window mech ,can u recommed anywhere cheap ,i want a new part not second hand ,

Sounds like one of the cable guides might have broken, it's a puny little blue or green clip/tube that sits within the main metal part of the mechanism. The easiest way to sort it is to get a new regulator, you can find them new on ebay for about £35.

get new mech. Original from another car would be better
