like that Hurdy just need to gloss out the Rs for the stealth look, toying with this on mine but cant make me mind up

probably worth a punt but need to sort out some other tweaks and maybe scratch an itch for a new daily :)

You can risk it, but most people tend to break the holding clips. Much safer to remove the grille first. :smiley:

Regarding an R (and maybe other models) it also depends how new the car is.  My 2012 R had the taps melted flat so once you have the grill off you have to get some snipe nosed pliers and break up the melted area.  The VW badge can then be taken out of the grill but it's knackered and can't be reused.  There is a guide here: http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread.php?3085-DIY-Replace-the-Front-VW-emblem-of-Mk-6-Golf-R

Yes, I think if that is the case you can Dremel the excess off and use hot glue to fix the replacement in. If you want to refit the original you can uses hot melt again.  :cool:
