The boost leak was possibly causing the sticky VNT surely?
I don't get why it would though

I checked all the pipes, all the vacuum lines etc, all seemed fine. No leaks coming from any joins/blown gaskets etc and when shutting down it shut down straight away, no hissing noise.
Took it for a test drive and it seemed to drive well, I have it maybe 3/4 throttle up hill in 3rd, so plenty of opportunity to hit limp mode if it wanted to...Will keep an eye on it and will invest in some innotec turbo clean.
