Fuelling issue?
« on: 07 September 2012, 15:01 »
Hi

Today the car cut off and is refusing to start, and the fuel pump is not priming at all, Could it be the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump in tank itself?

And also does the 8V, 16V & VR6, share the same fuel pump?

when your cranking the car over touch the relay i think its 30 or 32 if it gets realy hot then the relay is duff. A new 1 should sort it. Its under the dash on drivers side where the fuses are.

Fuel pump relay is bottom right one, no 167. Take it out, see where the two wider pieces go and bridge with a wire that is at least 1.5mm2 and two spade crimps on... Then the pump should run - if not it's the pump.

If the pump then runs it most likely is that relay.

Relay 30 is for the ECU.... if it starts with fuel pump bridged it's certainly not that

If you find out that fuel pump relay is faulty you can have a working one of me for a fiver posted.

I've just tried what you said sharki, and before I could try to see if the relay was gettin hot, the car fired up on first try, so now the car starts, it been 3 days since it last gave me a problem,

Any suggestion what it could be
