gearbox numbers / problems

alright guys.

Ive stripped the gearbox out of my 2.0 8v on a p plate engine code AGG to change the clutch. ordered the clutch to suit my car but when i test fitted it on the gearbox spline it was to big to fit it, ive done some checking up and the gti box should be 28 spline but the box that has come out of mine is 24 spline. the gearbox code its self is 020.

im guessing its had a recon box in at somepoint and who ever has done it used a box from a 1.8.

does anyone know what code box should be in the 2.0 . 8v AGG? i carnt fine any relevant info anywhere. and also if the 020's where used for different gear ratios?

should be a CHE or DFQ box with the AGG but they sh1t!m lol dif tends to pop on them.
