Intercooler Help

The SMIC on my pd130 looks like its giving up the ghost as is covered in oil and about 3 runs from the bottom seem non-existent.
I'll more than likely be changing it for a FMIC but i was wondering would i need an IC with both hose connectors on the same side as all the pipes to it run down the O/S of the engine bay?
Or if i got one with the exits on either side would i have an issue running the pipe work?

Also why cant i run a forge cooler with headlamp washers?
They dont really seem to look like they get in the way of anything

I've done a couple of 1.8Ts with headlight washers, the forge kit fitted fine even though they said it wouldn't. If i remember right I just had to unclip one of the fixing points for the headlight washer hoses. I can't see it being much different on a tdi!

do you know if it would be easier to get one with both exits on the same side or on either and route a pipe set up?
