Missy engine?
« on: 29 June 2005, 01:42 »
Hi All,
Well I've posted in the welcome section a while ago, so to cut a long story short I have a MK1 Cab GTI,.......but I have an ickle problem....  Ive changed the oil+filter/plugs/air filter/fuel filter.........but when I throttle on full its a bit missy....It's fine after a couple of seconds but under load it still seems to misfire?  not sure what it could be....cant seem to get the points out from under the dizzy, is there a knack in removing them?
Anyway if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated?
Cheers,
DAVE

Beeing a 91, I would assume its a digifant 2H motor. But 91 MK1 Cab GTI doesn't really exist. Anyway....

If its indeed a Digifant motor, there are many things that could be wrong with it. From O2 sensor to the blue CTS or even the timing could be incorrect.
1.8L 8V Digifart, AMS chip, Kent 270 camshaft, TT Adjustable Cam Gear, Supersprint Header with supersprint catless system, BMW AFM, Adjustable FPR. G60 Green 23lb injectors coming soon.... =)

Mmmmm....well its a Sportline if that makes any difference on the year.....but my wallet will confirm its existence, believe me!
OK I have to go look up what you mentioned as new to the Golf scene. But cheers for the advice. I'll let you know how I'm getting on!

Daveydub, as it's a mk1 it will be a K-jet, I don't think any mk1s (including late cabs) had digi and a sportline is deffo a GTI.
......now officially dubless.
