Most things have been covered in the previous replies, the sony centre (postdamer Platz) is well worth a look (go at night as it's light up) there's a building you can get the lift up for an amazing panorama of the city.

The Fernsehturm... great views and well worth it! Built by the East Germans for having a good look at what was going on in West Berlin

Second that, will go as far as saying most German cities are pretty good places to go.
Just got in from Düsseldorf today after a business trip to Duren, sat nav had a mare so got a good drive around the city before finding the airport
Old East Germany can be a bit imposing but has cheeky Germanic Croydon thing going on.
