key help

Hello,

I have remote central locking and the battery went dead in the remote went halfrauds to get a new battery and i still have no remote locking is there any way to re program the remote locking key thing your self or is it a dealer job?

I only have the 1 key and my car is a golf gti non turbo s reg 1999

Any help would be great

the way i did mine you put the key in the drivers door and unlock the car but hold it for 30's and then lock it and hold for 30's technically the windows should go down and then go back up then try it after you have done that hope fully that will work for you

if not, go into a key cutters, timpson,
get a blank key without the transponder,
put your remote key in the ignition,
turn to pos 2, undo window,
lock door manually using timpson key
push unlock on the remote in ignition
wait 6 secs then push unlock again.

Another problem now as my drivers door lock wont lock from the outside any idea why that is?

Yh it does but on a plus note my door light now works now

any other ideas or am i gunna have to take some lube up to the vw dealer and tell them to be gentle
