coolant bottle gti vs vr6

What is the difference between the golf mk3 gti expansion bottle and the vr6 bottle?

My car is a 2.0 gti and has a 2.9 conversion in it but is still running the 2.0 expansion bottle

Can i fit another 2.0 gti bottle? or should i have a vr bottle?

I googled the part numbers and one is round (gti one) and the vr6 is kidney shaped

Is it just to hold a bt more coolant?

I would of thought ones an early model and ones later?

Shouldn't matter which one you have though

My gti and vr6 are the same

VR6 are different, slightly bigger but I wouldn't be too concerned running the GTi one in a VR

well i bought a new gti one with lid for £18

the vr one was £38

VR item different shape, bigger, looks more squashed and gay

Mine may have been changed. Engine has been out and rebuilt so very possible
