Anyone know about Square Trade? Also Part 2
« on: 28 June 2005, 17:36 »
Any one heard good or bad things about them?

I am looking at importing a dub but having it deleivered, so payment is a issue, this company they are suggesting to use, I have to pay 30% and the rest 10 days after delivery (which is a set inspection time) which sounds fair enough, but also still a risk and 30% of what I am spending is still a very big amount to loose.

So please let me know views etc...

good luck!!

I have found the car I want, and the person is willing to ship, all that is sorted out, but it is just finding a safe way of exchanging the car & the money, he says he will be happy with this square trade company, I see it has a lot to do with e-bay but that is all I can really fine out.

I think is it: http://www.squaretrade.com/cnt/jsp/index.jsp

Avoid Western Union tbh  :undecided:

You could possibly do an international bank transfer thru your bank? May probably cost, but weighed against the cost of the car etc, worth it for peace of mind I would think

As far as i am aware Square trade are supposed to hold your payment in limbo until you tell them you are happy with the goods before the  payment is made...

Just make sure whichever you use you are legally covered incase it goes pear shaped,i would avoid using western union tbh it's not a particularly safe form of transaction ..
