Misbehaving windows electric

My windows have decided to brain fart and now for some reasons will only go up and down in stages I take it there's some reset function I've tried sending it all the way down and holding things to no avail I could do with them working cos my alarm is total closure so shuts everything for me but won't at the min cos of the fault

Could be failing electrics in the doors - which windows?  All of them?

Mine done this so I lubed up all the runners and still didn't work.  So I loosened up the window clamps and guides operated them then done them back up in there chosen position and all worked fine . I think when it gets tight the fuse thinks a finger is in it ect so stops the wondow
