Not quite getting overtaken by, but a few years ago I was following a TVR Chimaera in the Dartford Tunnel when he started slowing down. I knew what he was up to and spent the next couple of minutes loving the noise as he booted it in 2nd gear, slowed down & did it again & again

Had a pillock in his chavved up corsa come by me last night just before a blind corner. I reckon he must of dropped down to 2nd gear to get by, sounded like he was gonna blow the engine
