I've just ordered the crucial 256gb M4. will be with me Wed and going to put it in a 2007 Santa Rosa macbook pro. Can't wait to see the old 5 year old laptop boot up in 15 seconds!

Just remember, your MBP will be sata-2 so you won't see the speeds you'll expect. It'll probably peak at about 250-260MB/s. Still a massssssive difference though! Latency goes to something like 0.01ms

Just installed it. took 1 hour from taken it apart to having Lion installed and ready to go. 24 seconds to bootup. Timed it. SSD drives are just brilliant.

Opening the case and bunging in the SSD

Just getting more and more impressed with the MBA as the days go on.  I've spent the last 2 days hammering Diablo 3 on it and with the odd bit of lag here and there it's brilliant.  Obviously not like a desktop PC, but MUCH better than I expected.

For general internet use etc it's still faultless.  So easy to use, I've really grown to like OS X.  Provided I'm sitting properly the keyboard is also pretty good for typing on.

My girlfriend has one of these Mac Book Pro things, I gave it a go the other day.

Everyone goes on about how quick they are and how smooth, well trying to flick through thousands of pictures took a while as it took so long to load, opening applications and although when it finally did it, the apps loaded quickly, it seemed to take a while before trying to open it.

My 4 year old HP Pavilon with 4GB RAM and Windows 7 opens things instantly and can scroll through pictures at ease!

Personally, I don't get the Mac hype.

I imagine it was an old MBS.  the new ones are SSD, so everything is pretty much instant.  If it's not, it's faulty.
