« on: 28 June 2012, 18:02 »
ok its hard to explain i have notived that when im sat in traffic with my foot on the brake i swear i can fell the brake pedal very very slowly moving down. im used to it now and it gets to a point and i just pump it twice and it goes back up.
my black golf used to do exactly the same.

it dont go all the way down. its like i put my foot on the brake then it will very very slowly go down about an inch i feels like anyway.

It will slowly go down and is normal as the servo will slowly be helping pump more into the system.

This is why they invented a hand brake.

I don't think it is normal, if your having to pump the pedal that suggests a master cylinder problem.

The pulsing isn't normal but the pedal will slowly go down til a certain point, unless you have slammed on and maintaimed that pressure. Under normal conditions you will only have had your foot down part way and this can go to it's maximum point easilly with the servo constantly on it.

Try holding your foot on the brake with the engine off after exhausting the vaccuum by braking a few times. see if it goes down.

Good shout. If it does then you have a problem
