Who has done plasma welding?

I need a displacer welded to the micron anyone do this for a living and has a oxygen free enivronment to do it in or use nitrogen?
Its a bit specialist jobbie?

Hello Danny the walls on the displacer is missing a few mills
Not sure if plasma or tig can be used I think the alloy used is a Alu magnisium mix!
I have a expensive paper weight sitting in the garage it need help.
I've found someone who can deal with it but he said its down to the materials he needs to match the displacer?

Jay can you not just TIG it and purge the pipe with pure argon?
This is assuming I've read it correct and it's a micron exhaust/displacer?
You should only need oxy free environment if it has titanium in it?

No super charger displacer fella the clean environment helps when it comes to G60's 
TBF I know bugger about welding did some as a kid old man showed me, but that was Eons ago

sounds like it'll be a right twerp to do,  put some piccys up and may be abel to help more

problem with mag alloy parts that are under quite a lot od stess that need welding and accuratly is it's got so meany chances to bite you in the arse.

distortion,  heat metal up and cool it down  it WILL MOVE

also the heat affected zone, aluminium alloys are massivly affcted by heat welding will destroy any heat treatment so chances are part will require re treating,  as said youve first got to work out what to weld it with as well

You might even have to heat the job up fully before you can weld it.
If you find it needs stabilising(heat treating) again once welded pop it over with the specs required and I will do it at work for you.

I would pop it over to you mate but you are quite far from me fella?
I've got a man to line up for the job so I'll get more info of him first to see if its doable first?

As a general rule of thumb you need to heat stuff to avoid movement and twisting. Is it not possible to simply weld like normal and then machine the material out?
