HELP!!!!!! HIGH TEMPERATURE!!!!

 :'(I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE MAIN ROAD, AND GOT A SUDDEN BEEP. LOOKED AT THE DASH AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE SHOT UPTO 130 C.
CALLED THE AA. THEY SAID THAT A NEW THERMOSTAT WAS NEED.

TOOK THE CAR INTO THE GARAGE THIS MORNING. GOT THE THERMOSTAT CHANGED. SAME THING HAPPENED. TEMP SHOT UPTO TO 13O C. HE NOW SAYS THE WATER PUMP MAY BE FAULTY AN IS REPLACING THAT.
SEE IF THIS SORTS THE PROBLEM OUT.

 :'(DOES ANYONE KNOW WHATS WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :'(

Well if the coolant isnt being cooled then it can only be a number of things.

1 - Thermostat
2- Waterpump
3- Drive belt for water pump
4- Fan not engaging
5- Blocked radiator not allowing air flow to the cooling matrix
6- faulty gauge (doubtful)

Maybe you should suggest to the garage a problem with the fan. What type of fan is used ?

The fan shouldn't come on when you are driving as it shouldn't be needed. I would look at the waterpump and make sure there isn't a blockage in the rad or anywhere in the cooling system.

WENT TO GARAGE THIS MORNING. TOLD ME THAT THE WATER PUMP HAD GONE!!!!

MY CARS ONLY DONE 30K.
SHOULD THE WATER PUMP HAVE GONE????????  :-\

Probably not, but anything can fail in theory, just one of those things. I would ask for the old pump back for inspection when it is replaced.
