whats it worth? need help!! mk4 golf 1.6

I went to go look at a car today and I'm pleased with it however I don't know what it's really worth, maybe you guys can help?
its on for £1100 however i dont know if its really worth that, what do you think?

petrol 1.6 S 100bhp
5 door hatchback in black
MOT until April 2013
Tax until April 2013 - (£220 for 12 months tax wow! )
Has got VW Montreal alloys with good tread
Toad cat 1 alarm
Cloth interior + cassette player
90800 mileage
Full service history from the local garage near me, ( i know the mechanic)
Serviced 5 weeks ago
Cambelt changed at 75k
Gearbox + clutch replaced at 88k
no other engine mods/interior mods - all standard
Hpi clear

that engine and gearbox aren't great but it's all been replaced so should do you for a while. i'd say it's probably worth £1000

do you think the mileage is a little high? or is it okay for the age of the car?

also the £220 road tax scared me!! hows it so high on a 1.6!!
