Get yourself a nice Polo Mk4 with a smallish engine, that's what I did.
£1000 for a 1.4, and even chugging round in London traffic it gives about 70 miles for £10 of juice.
It's nippy too, not quite as nippy as my old valver, but still decent.

Yeah but i'm 6'4" and 16.5 stone, I look a complete knob in a little car.

I've decided to try my car for a bit and see how it goes, then i'll make a decision
