Tuning jumbo remote control

Hi guys

I've bought my old man a jumbo universal remote control as part of his b'day presents and am currently trying to tune the fecker!
Been through instructions god knows how many times and still nothing!
Any of you had any luck with these or is it a return to store job?

Got 3 different codes from the instructions and none of them seem to work mate?
Also have got codes for sky hd box and DVD player, just can't seem to get any to work  :sad:
