Problem With Petrol Needle
« on: 21 May 2012, 00:51 »
I bought some white dial faces (stickers) off Ebay, i put these stickers on my original black dials without a problem, but my petrol needle has a strange problem, when i put the wire for the speedo back in, the petrol needle jumps down to the left hand side rather than sit on the empty red line. . . i cant figure out how to put it back to normal.

Any Ideas ?

Sounds like you have not put needle in correct position, i.e. you moved motor inside when taking off.

When replacing the needle don't push it in complete to begin with, just put it in gently and turn slowly to the left (you will hear some very faint clinking noises, that is the stepper motor. Turn anti-clockwise till it stops, then very carefully and slowly keep turning anti-clockwise until it is just a tiny bit left of the red line. Then push the needle in fully. That should solve it....
