newbie with few 2.0 gti Q's

only got car yesterday, when i take off in first at around 2k revs the car makes a noise like it is blowing out from the exhaust but i can feel it in the steering and feels like it is coming from the passanger side wheel and also happens when turning right. could this be a wheel bearing or something worse. cheers.

got car up on axel stands today, stuck it in 5th. noise seems to be coming from passanger side of the diff. real rattaly noise. im fearing this could be the rivels inside being broke as ive heard this can be a problem. would this be a matter of replacing gearbox or would there be a easier option. cheers.
