you've just started your working career and unfortunately you'll come across many of these people throughout your working life.

these type of people have their own problems whether it be at work or at home and you will learn to deal with them in an adult/mature way, and not let them influence your decisions, etc

they may also see themselves as being a wee bit over the hill and not going anywhere now, and may resent that you are young and starting out in your career.

best of luck in your career  ( coming from someone who is a wee bit over the hill, but happy and content with it !! )

Feel for you. 2 jobs ago i left to go to a direct competitor, so should have been on gardening leave as per my contract, but due to nobody else being able to do my role I had to work a full 4 weeks. Switched off after about 2.

The last job I was there 6 months and was still on 1 week notice, but gave them 3 weeks as a goodwill gesture - got really hard towards the end to keep interested there too.

As said before, never leave on bad terms in case you need to go back!

Anytime he says something silly, just reply with 'yeah I know' in a bit of a vague voice. Eventually it winds people up, I do it all the time
80% of your posts are total tripe, as they are mostly replies to sh1te posts created by the morons that, unfortunately this forum attracts.

Always leave on good terms then you can still walk back in if the need arises, no one can afford to burn bridges these days and there's a dickhead like that in every firm.

Is all I have to say about that.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

+1

Just smile, it winds them up that your not miserable... any firm will have an idiot of this nature, previous job I had a twit that was incompetent, unskilled, always late, left early, always ill or not coming in. Guess what his still there and they haven't got rid of him as they feel "sorry" for him. Yet I've moved on and earned double if not triple on some occasions than him. Just chin up and let the rest of the world get on with it :afro:
